Partnering with UNAIDS

In August 2006 the Africa Centre for HIV/AIDS Management became a collaborating centre of UNAIDS, the main advocate for action on the HIV epidemic globally.

UNAIDS’s mission is to lead, strengthen and support an expanded response to HIV and AIDS. This includes preventing the transmission of HIV, providing care and support to people who are living with the virus, reducing the vulnerability of individuals and communities to HIV and alleviating the impact of the epidemic. The focus of the collaboration with the Africa Centre is capacity building, community mobilisation and research dissemination.
